The Lacquer Transformation

Drag to see what twelve weeks does
to your hands.

01From unsteady to unstoppable.
Student Day 1: uneven polish application on a practice hand, showing shaky brush strokes and inconsistent coverage
Graduation Day: sculpted almond gel extensions with mirror-chrome finish, perfectly uniform and gleaming under studio light
Day 1Week 12

Basic polish to sculpted chrome almond extensions. Twelve weeks of clinical hours and muscle memory built at the station.

I came in thinking I knew nails. My first practice hand proved me wrong. By week six I was sculpting sets I'd have paid $120 for.

02Russian technique. Earned, not watched.
Student early attempt: flat single-color gel application with visible brush marks and uneven apex placement
Advanced result: hand-painted French ombré with Russian technique — clean smile line and feathered gradient, salon-floor ready
Week 2Week 10

YouTube can show you the motion. Lacquer gives you the 200 reps that make it automatic.

The e-file module alone changed everything. I'd been filing by hand for three years — I didn't know what I was missing.

03Encapsulated florals. Gallery-ready sets.
Early practice: flat solid color on short square nails, no dimension or nail art
Final project: encapsulated 3D florals in gel — dried botanicals suspended under a high-gloss dome, photographed like jewelry
Week 1Graduation

The capstone project asks you to push past technique into art. Every graduate leaves with a portfolio that books clients.

I booked my first three clients the week after graduation. The portfolio I built at Lacquer did the selling for me.
